- New Users: Skip the first two fields and buttons below. Enter your desired user name in the Name field and optional email address in the next field. You can leave the rest of the settings alone for now, and click the Create Profile button at the bottom of the form. You will then be logged in on this computer until you log out from this page.
- Email address or not? Entering your email address when you register is optional. Entering it has two benefits:
- You can receive email notifications when pages of interest change.
- You can get a reminder email if you want to log back in (or log in on a different computer) and don't have your ID Number handy.
- Privacy Policy
- Logged In Users: You can change any of the profile settings on this page and update your profile, or log out from here.
- Returning Users: If you know your ID number, you can enter it and log in. Your browser may have your number saved if you try the down arrow key in the ID number field. Otherwise, enter your email address in the field labeled 'Your email address') and have your login information emailed to you. The email will contain a link you can click to log in.
Apologies for the overly technical nature of this preferences form. If all else fails, contact the WikiServant for assistance.
If you click on Create Profile, a user profile will be created for you. With the response, a HTTP cookie will be sent that contains your user ID, which enables the system to recognize you.
This "ID", shown in the response page, can be used to send the same cookie to other machines you might use. So jot it down! Or cut and paste the URL shown above, after you created your profile.
Logout clears the cookie. As described above, Login enables you to gain access to your user profile if you somehow lost the cookie or are on another machine. Save just updates your profile.
