Edward Millar Geary graduated West Point in 1939, served in World War II and the Korean War, and was an ROTC Instructor at UCLA in the early 1960s. He retired from the United States Army a full bird Colonel in 1969 and lived in Lake Havasu City, Arizona until 1993. He was an avid collector and contributor of genealogical information regarding his great-grandfather (the man in the photo on all these pages) Gen. John White Geary.
His first wife, Jane died in 1975, and he married Jean Hammaren in 1976. Colonel Geary died at the age of 80 over Memorial Day Weekend in Denver, CO in 1998. He is survived by his daughter Janet, wife Jean Geary, and 3 step-children: Susan Hammaren Geary, Joanne Hammaren, and John Hammaren. His grand-daughter, Caitlin Millar Hammaren was a victim of the VA Tech Shootings on April 16, 2007. She shared the same middle name as Colonel Geary.
